Below is an extact from the citation read at the awards.

I think it is difficult to overestimate the numbers of people Robin & Moira have had an impact on through the many activities they are involved in. The work they do directly for the charity has reached many thousands. Providing advice on prevention is a vital part of what we do and Robin & Moira have been at the forefront of this across Scotland. Their constant fundraising supports our research across the United Kingdom and Robin and Moira have been involved in supporting Diabetes UK in this way since 1969. Their attendance at roadshows in various parts of the country have also added to the impact they have on identifying people who are at risk of developing the condition. The work at Anniesland College and the MOD in raising awareness reaches people living with Type 1 & type 2 diabetes.  Moira and Robin are also actively locally and support people in the North of Glasgow who are living with the condition through their group and have been involved with the group for over 10 years. I think the impact there has been a real achievement as they not only run the group but also provide materials for newly diagnosed at the hospital clinic which means that individuals who are unable to attend the group get information available at the right time and place. Moira and Robin have supported many people through attending our Know Your Risk roadshows in the past 7 years as Risk Assessors in some of the most deprived parts of Scotland”.
